Bringing the rigor and vision of The Whitney to the ears of art lovers and curious minds around the country and world.

The Whitney Museum’s first-ever podcast series, Artists Among Us: Days End uses David Hammons’ new public installation at Pier 52 as a jumping-off point to explore the history of this vibrant area in New York City.

As lead producers on the podcast, we collected rich accounts of this neighborhood from individuals from all walks of life: from art world heroes to street hustles, neighborhood dandies to wistful poets. Woven together with narration from acclaimed artist Carrie Mae Weems, their stories breathe life into the history of Manhattan’s West Side and pay tribute to the individuals who lived, worked, and partied along the Hudson River throughout time.
