SOUND MADE PUBLIC WORK SHAMEBOOTH.jpg
Part installation, part social intervention SHAMEBOOTH hopes to free people from their shame.

Shamebooth is a roving installation that invites people to participate by walking into a refurbished phone booth, picking up the phone and responding to an invitation to share an experience or feeling they have around shame. The idea is that through sharing your experience, you not only have a chance to release your shame but you offer others inspiration to do the same.

Artist Paula Williams conceived of this project and approached us to develop the booth, design all the components, support the recordings, produce a podcast series, create merch and, now, open a store. SHAMEBOOTH has it all.

In 2019 alone, we’ve released a dozen episodes of the podcast, participated in national events, have had residencies, ramped up our social media presence and following, developed an online store, created two new booths and it’s only the beginning.

Most of all, SHAMEBOOTH is changing lives, one recording at a time.
