an acoustic tour for the blind and visually impaired of the UNESCO World Heritage masterpiece of Frank Lloyd Wright

Taking a unique approach to the concept of a museum audio guide, Mind’s Eye engages with the artistry of the museum’s architecture rather than the artworks contained within the building. Designed for those who are blind or have low vision, the guide uses precise, evocative language to convey the sensorial experience of Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic structure.

Each of the 10 audio tracks describes a different aspect of the museum– the aromas drifting from the hot dog stands outside, the thick paint coating every surface of the building’s interior, and the murmuring of the lobby fountain as it reverberates against the walls. The amalgamation of these details invites listeners of all abilities to experience the space without seeing it. Voices included in the series are Maggie Gyllenhaal, Bobby Cannavale, and Marilee Talkington, amongst others.
